MEET SONYA LINTON
Experienced attorney, wife & mother, and active member of the Durham Community.
Sonya Linton has been a member of the North Carolina bar since 2007, practicing in Trust and Estates and Civil Litigation during that period. Sonya grew up with the law, having spent many childhood weekends and summers in her father's law firm. This inspiration was the catalyst for her journey into the practice of law, starting with her undergraduate work at St. John's College where she received a double major in Philosophy and History of Math and Science in 2000. She then attended Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City, graduating in 2007. After graduation, she landed in Durham and has never looked back.
Sonya is an active member of the PTA at her children’s school, most recently organizing a service project to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Sonya is also a proud volunteer for the Wills for Heroes Foundation, an organization which provided estate plans pro bono for first responders in North Carolina. Sonya currently lives in Durham with her husband of 15 years and their two children.

TESTIMONIALS
"Throughout the process, [Sonya] was always quick to respond to any questions we had and made the task of preparing our estate less daunting. I would recommend Sonya to anyone looking for a good, affordable lawyer to provide them with estate planning help."
"Sonya was excellent at explaining legal issues and terminology, as well as updating us on the changes in estate tax laws (it had been many years since we'd looked at our wills). She even drew flowcharts and gave written hypothetical examples--both of which were very helpful for us--without making us feel like schoolchildren. She occupies the generation between us and that of our young adult children, and she's a wife and mother, so she had a perspective on family issues that we really appreciated."
"[Sonya] reviewed our existing plan and made some very insightful recommendations. It was very clear very quickly that she is very well versed in all aspects of estate law. She is very kind and fun to work with as well. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to develop or update their estate plan."
